Uniting to defeat brain cancer
The Brain Cancer Centre was founded by Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, in partnership with WEHI and with the support from the Victorian Government. At its heart is a bold mission: to end brain cancer as a terminal illness.
Through collaboration and cutting-edge research, the Brain Cancer Centre is focused on improving treatments and lifting survival rates for patients diagnosed with brain cancer. Their work brings together Australia's brightest medical researchers and leading minds from around the world to drive real change.
More than $30 million has already been committed to funding groundbreaking research projects and clinical trials. By investing in collaboration, innovation, and state-of-the-art infrastructure, the Brain Cancer Centre is creating new hope for patients and families affecting by this devastating disease.
The RMBL Foundation is proud to stand alongside the Brain Cancer Centre in this fight.
The RMBL Foundation has committed to funding this organisation for three years. This contribution will help sustain the momentum of critical research initiatives that have the potential to transform the future of brain cancer treatment.
In April, some of our team members had the incredible opportunity to visit the Brain Cancer Centre's research lab. Witnessing the groundbreaking work their scientists are doing to end brain cancer as a terminal illness was nothing short of inspiring.
Advancing Brain Cancer Research Through Targeted Therapy
The RMBL Foundation research grant is supporting the development of a new targeted therapy for patients with brain cancer, with a particular focus on improving outcomes for those diagnosed with glioblastoma – the most aggressive and treatment-resistant form of the disease. The goal is to create a more effective treatment that attacks cancerous cells while preserving healthy tissue.
In December 2025, we received a positive update from the Brain Cancer Centre on the progress of this research. The results to date are highly encouraging and offer hope that this work may lead to improved outcomes for patients and their families. These developments reinforce our belief that investing in high-quality research can deliver real and lasting impact.
